Hank Wolek
Grandpa Hank is our founder, starting Wolek's Moustache club at Hank's Cafe in the early 50's. Hank and his sports club & bar were so popular in Syracuse, that his Moustache Club, Bar, and various athletic championships were covered regualry in the central upstate NY newspapers. Janet Wolek
Janet Wolek was told as a child that she was just a grain of sand on the planet, but she used god's gift of heart, talent, and love to become a mountain in her community and industry. Janet Wolek managed and designed for the largest wig department in the world, worked with the biggest stars of her era(Hulk Hogan, Grace Jones, Sylvestor Stallone, Margaret Cho, Nancy Kerrigen, & more), won the Walt Disney Legacy Trophy(then Partners in Excellence), and has a certificate from Pres. Obama notating her community service. Most importantly, she left behind a legacy of touching and inspiring many of the people; who keep her alive in memory today.
Ron Wolek
Ron's family is polish; whom in Europe are known for having supier facial hair(see evidence here), Ron's Granpa Hank had a REAL moustache club, Ron's mom is a famous wig designer, and Ron's styled some of the most famous mustaches of all time! Grandma
Lois
At a time when women were encouraged to stay out of business, Lois chose to become an entrepreneur and opened “Lois’s Beauty Cottage” in 1963. Lois fondly says “she took any client that came in the door” and welcomed men in her salon, even when it was against the code. Lois began working with wigs in the early 60's, inventing ways to give any client her famous up-sweep hair-do. Her daughter Janet worked alongside her at "Lois's Beauty Cottage" and her grandson Ron spent his pre-k years at her salon; picking up authentic 20th century hair styling techniques and family trade secrets; still used at Famous Wolek's today.
Jackson Wolek
Cousin Jackson is a talened sports writer, he's written for various Austin, TX outlets, the Palm Beach Post, and whom we are giving this special shout out to for contributing by blogging about Famous Wolek. Thank you cousin Jackson!
Hank's kids, The
Wolek Bros.
Gary Wolek, Ron Wolek Sr, and Brian Wolek are Hank's three son's. Whom have kept Hank's Moustache Club alive by keeping the tradition of great polish whiskers in fashion throughout the decades.
We thank Hank's only daughter Janice, Grandma Helen, the Mazurs, Grandpa Harold, and the Wolek brothers for all your inspiration, love, and support at Famous Wolek's Moustache Parlour!
